Odit B&B
Odit B&B was founded by mother and daughter Christine and Lien, who opened the boutique bed and breakfast in 2023. The B&B is located in a beautiful Art Deco townhouse dating back to 1930. Christine and Lien live in the house themselves and welcome guests into their two stylish guest rooms, creating a warm and personal atmosphere.
You may already recognize the building if you’ve watched the Belgian TV show Blind Gekocht, where Christine and Lien purchased the house without ever seeing it in person. The talented interior architects from the television program completely transformed the property, and the result is stunning. From the elegant breakfast room to the hallways and the guestrooms, every corner has been thoughtfully designed with beautiful colors, quality materials and timeless details.
Although Odit is located just outside Bruges’ medieval city center, everything is within easy walking distance. Another thing I loved is their commitment to working with local businesses. From the luxurious bed and bath linen to the breakfast ingredients, they carefully source products from local makers whenever possible.
Room Henry
During my stay I slept in Room Henry, a bright and peaceful room decorated in soft white and warm earthy tones. The colorful cushions in shades of pink, red and purple add just the right amount of color and make the room feel extra inviting.
The bed is incredibly comfortable. In fact, we joked that we wanted to take the pillows home because we slept so well on them. The room also features a modern bathroom with a shower and toilet, complimentary Wi-Fi and coffee and tea facilities, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Bruges.
Room Victor
The second guest room, Room Victor, has a completely different atmosphere. If Room Henry reminds me of spring, then Room Victor feels like autumn. Rich shades of dark blue and deep green create a warm and luxurious ambiance.
The spacious bathroom continues the elegant color palette with dark blue walls and beautiful golden accents. Just like Room Henry, you’ll find a wonderfully comfortable bed, complimentary coffee and tea facilities and everything you need for a relaxing stay.
Breakfast
At Odit, the breakfast truly deserves the spotlight. Christine and Lien have elevated the “breakfast” in Bed & Breakfast to a whole new level. Every morning you’ll be treated to an impressive four-course breakfast, prepared with love and featuring mostly local products.
Think fresh fruit juice from a nearby orchard, artisan cheeses from a local farm, freshly roasted coffee from a Bruges coffee roaster and tea selected by a local tea sommelier. During our two-night stay we enjoyed two completely different breakfasts, each just as delicious as the other.
From homemade granola with fresh fruit to flavorful shakshuka, freshly baked banana bread and other seasonal dishes, every breakfast felt like a special culinary experience. It’s clear that Christine and Lien genuinely enjoy surprising their guests and making every stay memorable.
Bruges
Bruges is one of my favorite cities for a weekend getaway in Belgium. Its medieval city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it’s easy to see why. The picturesque canals, charming cobblestone streets and beautifully preserved historic buildings make the entire city feel like a fairytale.
One of the highlights is climbing the Belfry of Bruges, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views over the rooftops of the city. Another must-do is taking a canal boat tour. There are four different boat operators in the historic center, and seeing Bruges from the water offers a completely different perspective.
